With the departure of former starting quarterback Stetson Bennett IV, the Georgia Bulldogs are looking for his replacement this offseason, and Carson Beck appears to be the frontrunner. And based on the way he’s talking about his spring performance, it sounds like he has very high expectations for himself.
Earlier this month, Carson Beck led the first team offense and went 13-for-18 through the air for 211 yards and a touchdown during the team’s spring game and he appears to have made himself the frontrunner to land the starting role in the fall. Despite that, he is just “content” with the performance.
“I’d say I’m content with the way that I attacked and performed throughout spring and approached the competition part of it,” Beck said according to On3. “Really just focusing on myself first and foremost and trying to better myself and the little areas that I think that I can do. I think the biggest thing is to continue this connection with the wide receivers you know?
“Obviously there’s a lot of guys that came in with me and we’ve been throwing since I was a freshman, but the little intricacies and different routes and how to run different things against different coverages and just little timing. Those things that will just make us better and more explosive.”
It’s clear that he expects big things from himself.
