Bill Belichick is best known as the leader of the New England Patriots dynasty, from when he and Tom Brady assaulted the NFL to the tune of six Super Bowl championships.
However, he’s since left the NFL and is in his first season as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heels’ season kicked off on Monday night in a contest against the TCU Horned Frogs. Things got off to a blazing start for North Carolina, marching down the field on their opening drive to get out to a quick 7-0 lead.
Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. The contest ended in a brutal 48-14 loss, and things got even uglier after the game.
Belichick’s aesthetic and image, as of late, have been cultivated by his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. It seems as if every media appearance from Belichick these days has Hudson’s shadow looming over it.
In his post-game presser after the loss to TCU, that seemed to remain the case, as the press conference saw Belichick appear in front of a wild decorative scene full of balloons.
Awful Announcing’s Matt Yoder had quite the take on the scene.
“It looks like someone at North Carolina was definitely ready to celebrate after the first game of the season, assuming it would be an easy victory. Did nobody think to take down the party balloons when the Tar Heels were already getting blown out 41-7 in the third quarter?!?”
Hopefully, Belichick and the Tar Heels are able to keep the focus on football moving forward and get the season back on track.
