Everyone is talking about Caitlin Clark as she leads the Iowa Hawkeyes into the national title game against the LSU Tigers in the 2023 Women’s NCAA Tournament.
However, not everyone has something positive to say about her.
While Clark’s offensive displays against Louisville in the Elite Eight and South Carolina in the Final Four caught everyone’s attention, some also noticed the way she defended against the Gamecocks. Clark would give them space to shoot from the outside, which she correctly assumed they wouldn’t do.
LSU guard Alex Morris noticed the tactic and didn’t take too kindly to it. She plans on using it against the Hawkeyes if they do it to her in the national title game.
“I find it very disrespectful [how Iowa played defense], so I’m going to take that personally going into the game,” Morris told reporters.
We’ll all be watching to see how Clark and Morris match up in the national championship and if LSU takes advantage of Iowa’s defensive style. They’ll certainly have their work cut out for them trying to keep up with Clark, who is shooting lights out right now for the Hawkeyes.
