A few weeks ago, Shaq called LSU women’s basketball player Angel Reese the GOAT and the most outstanding LSU athlete of all time after the Tigers won the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Shaq added: “Did you hear what I just said? Male and female.”
But even Reese said recently pump the brakes on calling her the GOAT. Reese said she recently talked to Shaq, whom she calls Uncle, and told him:
“Do you know how much pressure you just put on me?” According to Reese, Shaq said he didn’t give a f***.
Shaq took some heat from former LSU and Olympic track star Lolo Jones who took offense to him leaving stars like her, Joe Burrow, and Pistol Pete Maravich off his list.
Jones said he must have been high when he made those comments. Jones also said she meant no disrespect towards Reese and thought Shaq was wrong in leaving other LSU greats out.
Angel Reese led the Tigers to their first NCAA Basketball Tournament championship in school history in men’s or women’s basketball.
So, Shaq thought that was a huge accomplishment, but the LSU Tigers have won championships in other sports, and it had to be a bit of a blow to past Tiger athletes who also led their school to championships.
