During this week’s SEC men’s basketball tournament, some Alabama Crimson Tide fans made headlines for all the wrong reasons for their highly-controversial t-shirts. But it looks like they won’t be permitted to wear them at the tournament any longer.
This week, a couple of Alabama fans were seen wearing shirts that said “Killin’ our way through the SEC in ‘23,” in an apparent reference to a recent murder investigation involving former Alabama player Darius Miles, who has been charged in the murder, and current star player Brandon Miller, who is connected to the situation but has not been charged with a crime.
But if they try to wear the shirts again, they won’t be permitted to enter the arena, according to a report from AL.com
“SEC spokesperson Herb Vincent told AL.com that the fans would not be allowed inside Bridgestone Arena with the shirts on Sunday and that if the fans put them on at any point inside the arena, they would be asked to leave. The SEC fan ticket policy states that tickets are revocable if ‘user is disruptive, endangers others or uses vulgar, threatening or demeaning language,'” Talty wrote for AL.com on Saturday afternoon.
It’s certainly been a controversial year for the Crimson Tide, and this is another chapter.
