The Alabama Crimson Tide are set to face off against the San Diego State Aztecs in the Sweet 16 on Friday, and a big area of concern has been the healthy of controversial star Brandon Miller.
Miller has been battling a lingering groin injury throughout the NCAA Tournament. It caused him to miss practice earlier this week. But it appears that he will give it a go on Friday.
Alabama head coach Nate Oats detailed to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports that Miller “should be better than he was last weekend” despite not being at 100 percent in his opinion.
The Crimson Tide come into Friday’s game against San Diego State as 7.5 point favorites. However, this certainly hinges on Miller being healthy and performing well, which Miller seems to believe will be the case.
Oats may not feel like Miller is fully healthy, but Miller seems to believe that he is. He discussed the injury during a team press conference on Thursday, where he revealed that he feels 100 percent.
“I feel like I can just go out and compete with my team at 100 percent,” said Miller via Alabama beat reporter Mike Rodak on Twitter.
Brandon Miller has certainly been at the forefront of a ton of controversy off the court with his alleged involvement in the Darius Miles murder case. With that being said, he has been terrific on the court for the Crimson Tide this season, averaging 19.1 points per game along with 8.2 rebounds on the year.
