Legendary boxer Mike Tyson has been widely known as one of the prominent names in the sport, but many were shocked when he previously announced that he felt like his “expiration date” was coming shortly.
This caused many to be concerned about his long-term health moving forward. Now, Tyson has revealed that he uses a number of substances that serve as a “cure-all” for him.
“I like taking mushrooms and smoking before fighting. I take psychedelics every day, mushrooms,” Tyson told Muscle and Health Magazine on Monday.
He also expressed regret during his boxing career, saying that he wishes that he had smoked weed during his boxing career, as he sees the benefits that it has shown him in his post-boxing career.
“Cannabis is good to workout on for me. I just wish I was smoking back when I was fighting. I really lost out there from an athlete’s perspective,” Tyson added. “If I’d smoked during my boxing career, I probably wouldn’t have been so aggressive.”
Tyson is notably a CEO of a cannabis company called Tyson 2.0, so it isn’t entirely surprising that he is so passionate about the topic.
It’s unclear if Tyson plans to fight again at this stage of his life, last competing in 2020 in an exhibition match that went to a draw with Roy Jones.
Given the concerning health issues that Tyson has seemingly been having, including a picture of him being wheeled through an airport at Miami International Airport by an attendant on Tuesday, it seems like he should certainly not step back in the ring again.
