As the world watches in horror after the wildfires burned in Maui, Hawaii this week, one celebrity has decided to pitch in and send help to those in need as boxing champion Floyd Mayweather is sending supplies to 70 families in need in Maui.
As many know by now, the wildfires in Mani have claimed almost 60 lives so far and have devastated the island. Many residents had to evacuate. Many businesses and homes have been lost to those fires.
TMZ has reported that Mayweather paid for nearly 70 to be flown out of Maui to Honolulu and provided them with food, shelter, and clothing.
He is providing those who are misplaced with hotel rooms for several weeks, as well as food from local restaurants and clothing to wear while they’re away from their homes.
Although Mayweather confirmed his good deed, he has no interest in garnering any kind of attention or publicly speaking to the media about this. As pictures come in from Maui, may expect the death toll to arise in the next coming days and weeks.
It is important that those like Mayweather who can provide help to others, continue to do so. It might take awhile for Maui to recover from such devastation and any help they can receive from anyone is appreciated.
