Sam Carraher and Charlie Woods wait to tee off Thursday, July 31, 2025, during the Junior PGA Championship at the Purdue Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Indiana.

It is tough for anyone to live up to the kind of legacy that Tiger Woods has put together in the game of golf. But Charlie Woods, Tiger’s son, is attempting to do just that. And over the past few days, Charlie has put together perhaps the best golf of his career.

Charlie Woods, who is ranked the No. 20 golfer in the American Junior Golf Association, is taking part in the Junior PGA Championship that started on Tuesday.

The tournament has some huge stakes on the line, as anyone who finished in the top-two in the tournament automatically Junior Ryder Cup team. Some of the elite players today in the game of golf, including Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, and Rory McIlroy have used the Junior Ryder Cup as a stepping stone to propel their golf career to the next level.

Through three rounds at the Junior PGA Championship, Woods has positioned himself to be in great position for a top-two finish, as he is currently in a tie for second place in the event.

It will certainly take another great round for Woods to end up finishing in second place. But regardless of whether he does finish strong or not, golf fans are incredibly encouraged for Charlie Woods’ future in the sport of golf.
