The Tulane Green Wave are the 2024 American Conference Tournament Champions! The Green Wave rolled to victory on Sunday afternoon after they launched an absurd walk-off home run.
Sunday’s AAC Championship Game featured the Green Wave and the Wichita State Shockers. Tulane and Wichita State engaged in a back-and-forth tussle that also turned into a slugfest.
Before the game’s final swing, the score was tied at 10-10. And much like another slugfest on Sunday, this one ended with a blast too. Jackson Linn became the hero for Tulane with this monstrous home run.
Linn’s homer will lift Tulane officially into the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament. It’s Championship Weekend for the 2024 baseball season, so tickets are being punched all over the country. Some louder than others, especially this one.
The Green Wave has now made the NCAA Baseball Tournament in each of the last two years. 2024 will mark the program’s 23rd appearance in the tournament since their first in 1979. Tulane has only made the College World Series twice: In 2001 and 2005. They’ve won regional championships on three occasions, the last being in 2005. So they will hope to recapture that mid-2000s magic this year when the tournament begins next week.
The sports world had much to say over this absurd walk-off.
