The Texas Longhorns came away with a huge transfer portal victory on Saturday. The Longhorns learned that UTSA EDGE Trey Moore has decided to go from San Antonio to Austin. Texas gets an absolute stud in the portal with Moore’s commitment, which was made official Saturday afternoon.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett posted the news of Moore’s commitment to the Longhorns.
Fawcett said, “Former UTSA EDGE Trey Moore ahs committed to Texas.”
Fawcett noted that Moore was this past season’s American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Roadrunners EDGE racked up 14 sacks and 17.5 TFL during a monstrous season. He’s a valuable addition for Texas going forward, to say the least.
The Longhorns have a lot going right for them suddenly. After years of frustration, Texas emerged to win the Big 12 again this season. And not only that, but Texas also made the College Football Playoff for the first time since its inception nearly ten years ago. The Longhorns will play the undefeated Washington Huskies in the 2024 Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day.
Should the Longhorns win, they will head to the Lone Star State for the CFP Final. This year’s CFP Final is emanating from Houston at NRG Stadium. It’s safe to say that if Texas wins, there might be a big ol’ party down in Houston with plenty of burnt orange.
