The Carolina Panthers are stacking wins and looking like one of the most improved teams in the league from last season. Bryce Young has led some impressive drives in the fourth quarter and has Carolina looking like a team that may be able to end its playoff appearance drought.

Still, as impressive as Young has been, things are going to get harder here on out on the defensive side of the ball, as one prominent insider around the league has confirmed some season-ending news for one of Carolina’s linebackers.

“Coach Canales just announced that Pat Jones will be out for the rest of the season after suffering with a back injury that will require surgery,” Myles Harris reported on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Dang that sucks. Pat was real solid for us. Time to call Miami or NYJ and get one of their edges,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Time for the rookies to step up and take ownership. Hate to lose PJ but I’m excited to see what these Nic and Princely do with the larger role,” someone else added.

“We already couldn’t generate pressure. This isn’t gonna help. Idek if we try to make a low risk move,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Panthers respond to the loss.
