Detroit Tigers outfielder Matt Vierling has made a recent habit of making headline-worthy plays. A few Sundays ago, he hit a walk-off home run to end a seesaw battle with the Toronto Blue Jays. This Sunday, Vierling made headlines for taking away a home run.
Vierling raced back and took a home run away from Milwaukee Brewers infielder Jake Bauers. Bauers looked like he was about to take the Tigers deep, but Vierling snatched the ball away and said, “Not on my watch.”
Video of the epic home run robbery came from MLB.
Vierling’s robbery excited Detroit fans, as the video indicated. That excitement became palpable all across online as well.

It’s safe to say you’ll probably see this one on highlight reels all season long.
