Longtime UFC personality Joe Rogan has never been shy about sharing his right-leaning views. However, this week, he was not at all shy about criticizing United States President Donald Trump.
Earlier this month, iconic director and producer Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, died in a suspected homicide at their Los Angeles home.
The following day, Trump shared a rambling post on social media in which he claims that Reiner and his wife were murdered “due to the anger he caused others through … a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.”
Rogan was clearly not impressed by this post from the sitting president.
In the latest episode of his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which premiered Christmas Day, Rogan did not hold back as he criticized the post from Trump.
“The Rob Reiner thing is not funny,” Rogan told podcast guest Shane Gillis. “When you see it with no empathy, that’s when it’s hard to like.”
Rogan said that “there’s no justification” for what Trump said “in a compassionate society,” and pondered how people would react if former United States President Barack Obama would have shared something similar.
“It’s no different than people that were celebrating when Charlie Kirk got shot. It’s the same kind of thing,” Rogan said, adding, “Imagine if Obama tweeted something about someone after they died in this way. That this person was a deranged person that hated Obama.”
Rogan went on to call Trump’s way of thinking “crazy.”
“It just shows you how crazy it is, the way Trump thinks and talks,” Rogan said on his podcast, alleging: “It’s just like, the guy got sliced up by his kid, you know? Anybody that doesn’t see that and go, ‘[expletive], man.'”
Rogan said that someone shold have taken “his [freaking] phone” away from him.
“It’s so disappointing,” Rogan said. “It’s like, why? If you say that privately, that’s one thing, which is also crazy. But it’s so disappointing.”
