The New York Giants are battling the Washington Commanders in a renewal of their longstanding NFC East rivalry. And finally, the Giants can get behind a miserable streak that’s followed them the past few weeks. Sunday marked the first time the Giants scored in three games!
ESPN Stats & Info posted, “A Giant drought is over. Darren Waller’s touchdown ends New York’s streak of 3 straight games without an offensive TD.” The helpful sports database account also said it was the longest touchdown drought that the Giants had gone through since 1976 when they went four games without an offensive touchdown.
The Giants made it two touchdowns in the first half as they lead the Commanders 14-0 at this juncture. Saquon Barkley scored on a receiving touchdown from backup Tyrod Taylor, who has two touchdowns and no picks thus far. So right now, for once, they look both spirited and competent.
But we’ll see if that continues onward. New York has to get many of their fans to see it to believe it. The 4-10 lead the team has may not yet be enough to turn the tides. But it is at least much appreciated that the streak has come to an end.
The 1-5 Giants are seeking their first home win of the season.
The NFL world reacted to the news.
