The Carolina Panthers likely expected more from this season after making a head coaching change and trading up to select former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but it was once again another disappointing season for the team this year as they finished with the worst record in the league, and it looks like they’re making some significant changes as a result.
According to a report from NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Carolina Panthers are parting ways with team General Manager Scott Fitterer in the aftermath of a 2-15 season this year.
“#Panthers have fired GM Scott Fitterer after three seasons, source confirms. David Tepper had started looking for potential replacements in recent weeks coming off the 2-15 season,” Fowler said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
While the Panthers have the worst record in the NFL this season, they won’t even get the benefit of having the No. 1 overall pick in the draft as the team traded their 2024 NFL Draft pick away to the Chicago Bears in return for the No. 1 overall pick in last year’s draft, which they used to select Young.
