In case you haven’t heard, the Chicago Bears need to make their minds up about the quarterback position. Justin Fields has been the team’s starter for the last few seasons, but whether he stays in the Windy City has been up for debate. The Bears own the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft and could potentially take USC’s Caleb Williams.
All of this is to say that the Bears have a decision to make. Until then, we’ve gotten a lot of silly debates and discussions. On Thursday, new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron took the podium at the Bears’ facility. During the press conference, quarterback play was discussed. Waldron delivered an answer that will probably appease… anybody right now, really.

“Obviously, it’s a unique spot in the Draft to have the first overall pick, the ninth overall pick,” Waldron said. He continued and then added, “A group of players already on offense, who played quarterback at a high level. And have displayed the ability to win football games and make plays.”
After his press conference, some locals noted how Waldron played it off well by not mentioning Fields by name.
Though one emerged with a counter opinion.
Considering how well Caleb Williams played at USC, it makes sense that the same could be said for him coming out of college. But stressing that continuity certainly makes things interesting.
