The Baylor Bears softball team rallied to pick up a major upset victory late Saturday night. The Bears, participating in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, earned a walk-off victory over the 13th-ranked Missouri Tigers.
Baylor plated home a run in the final stanza to win 5-4 over the Tigers in dramatic fashion.
Baylor’s 5-4 victory over the 13th-ranked Tigers meant that the 22nd-ranked Bears improved to an impeccable 5-0 across their weekend slate.
Baylor is off to an outstanding start to the 2024 softball season. The Bears are 8-3 on the season following the win, and the victory was their seventh consecutive win.
Mizzou, meanwhile, has been off to a great start as well. The Tigers are a bit of an early surprise, but obviously, Baylor dinging them up does some slight damage to them. But they are 13-2 this season following the loss, so there wasn’t too much damage done.
Not surprisingly, word of Baylor’s upset win quickly spread around online. A lot of excited fans expressed their excitement.

Baylor will be a team to watch in the Big 12 this season. The outgoing Oklahoma Sooners are the juggernaut of the conference and the nation, however. So when they eventually face the Sooners, they’ll be in for a fight. Mizzou will eventually have to deal with Mizzou probably on an annual basis starting next year when OU joins the SEC.
