The Detroit Lions won the NFC North and secured the number one seed for the first time in franchise history. Unfortunately for the Lions, the second half of the season was completely derailed by injuries, which proved too costly for Detroit by the time the playoffs arrived, with the Lions losing in the divisional round to the Washington Commanders.
Unfortunately, it appears as if this is shaping up to be another injury-filled season for the Lions, per one prominent insider.
“All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown hasn’t been participating in the Detroit Lions’ off-season practices after undergoing an offseason knee surgery. However, he anticipates being ready for training camp in late July,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“I wish him the best, but it’s gonna be a rough year for the Lions offense without Ben Johnson and Antwaan Randle-El,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Anyone else excited to see this poverty franchise return to the basement?” one fan wanted to know.
“Lions have not been telling the media A LOT,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Lions can stay healthy long enough to make a sustained run this season.
