The sports and entertainment world are enjoying night two of WrestleMania 39. However, one significant injury ruined a surprise appearance from longtime WWE personality Shane McMahon.
McMahon appeared in a spot involving WWE superstar “The Miz” and rap artist Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg booked an impromptu match between McMahon and The Miz, but it would be short-lived due to a serious injury to McMahon.
The 53-year-old McMahon planned a spot where he jumped over The Miz and landed on his feet. However, as he landed his knee appeared to completely blow out on him.
He was very clearly in a ton of pain and the match could not continue as planned. Snoop Dogg and The Mix then called a pretty great audible to somewhat keep the match going.
Snoop came into the ring while McMahon was getting medical attention and delivered a punch and an elbow to The Miz, later pinning him to end the match.
It is always hard to decipher what is real and what is part of the WWE storyline. However, backstage video emerged of McMahon needing assistance, so this was clearly a very real and devastating injury.
Many took notice of McMahon’s injury and speculated about its severity.

Shane McMahon is known to the WWE world to do some extremely risky aerial moves and put his body on the line. For him to get injured in this way is certainly a shock considering all he has been through in his wrestling career.
It may just be time for McMahon to step out of the ring for good. Regardless, this put a slight damper on what is supposed to be a great night of wrestling.
