San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has long been a huge WWE fan. During the first night of WrestleMania 39 on Saturday, he got to be in a match — sort of.
The Miz, the host of WrestleMania, took part in an impromptu match against WWE commentator and former NFL punter, Pat McAfee. Eventually, the match spilled to the outside, right in front of Kittle, who had ringside seats.
The Miz shoved Kittle back into his seat. At that point, Kittle got up, took off his jacket to reveal his Tight End University shirt and hopped over the barrier.
Kittle then delivered a clothesline to the Miz, which led to McAfee leaping on the Miz from the top rope.
The two legal combatants quickly returned to the ring where McAfee defeated Miz.
Fans of both the NFL and WWE loved seeing Kittle’s involvement.

Kittle is still in the prime of his NFL career and is still one of the best players in the entire league. So, his football career probably has several years left in it.
That said, Kittle at WrestleMania is something we should probably get used to seeing. Given his fandom, athleticism and personality, there’s a good chance that we’ll be seeing it again.
