CM Punk reportedly made a surprise appearance at Monday Night Raw in Chicago.
According to PWInsider.com, the former World Champion appeared backstage at Raw in Rosemont, Illinois, a suburb of Punk’s hometown. Raw will emanate from the Allstate Arena on Monday night.
What’s more, and possibly more shocking, is who Punk met with. According to PWInsider, “There’s no word who Punk was there visiting, but we have heard from several WWE sources that he did briefly see Paul Levesque, which would have been the first time the two have met in person since the day Punk walked out of the company back in 2014. Punk also met with several other WWE talents but was eventually asked to exit the arena,” they wrote.
Punk “immediately said his goodbyes and left the building” after he was asked to leave. A source told PWinsider, “it was a Vince McMahon call that he leave the venue.” McMahon is not reportedly at Raw, however, according to PWInsider. While we aren’t sure how that would happen that way, it’s nonetheless the news.
CM Punk is rumored to return to All Elite Wrestling soon. Punk left the company under uncertain circumstances last fall. However, the carpet seems to be rolled out for him to return. It’s not the only return he’s making any time soon.
The wrestling world reacted to the shocking news.
