The Indiana Fever are currently in the WNBA playoff picture, an impressive feat considering the horrible injury luck they’ve been forced to overcome this season. Most notably, star point guard Caitlin Clark is in her third prolonged absence of the season due to injury.
However, Clark is the only Fever player who has been sidelined. Only two weeks ago, ESPN’s Alexa Philippou reported on two Fever stars who had their seasons ended prematurely.
“Breaking: Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald will miss the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season, the Indiana Fever announce. Colson suffered an ACL tear and McDonald broke a bone in her foot. Devastating news for the Fever.”
“Breaking: Sophie Cunningham will miss the remainder of the season as a result of Sunday’s injury versus the Connecticut Sun, the Fever announce. This is the third season-ending injury in less than two weeks for the Fever.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Just such a horrible end for her. This team has suffered so much,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“If this team makes the playoffs & makes a crazy run it’s going to be a helluva movie..this is wild the amount of season ending or season long injuries. As a Fever fan, I don’t think that was intentional just an unlucky basketball play,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Clark and the Fever can make the playoffs after so many injuries.
