The Indiana Fever are looking to stay above water while star point guard Caitlin Clark works her way back from her third significant injury of the season. Clark is dealing with the same groin that cost her two weeks earlier in the campaign, tweaking it shortly before WNBA All-Star weekend.
Now, there’s been a significant update on just what happened to Clark when she tweaked the injury, according to one prominent league injury.
“NEW: After meeting with doctors, the Fever announce Caitlin Clark has no additional damage or injuries from her right groin injury. She will continue to work with the Fever’s medical staff on recovery and rehab, prioritizing long-term health. No timetable for return,” reported Chloe Peterson on Thursday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“No comeback anytime soon, maybe the playoffs if this team can get there without her & if they struggle it could and should be next season, see how the team copes & see how the league copes her fans will be fine with waiting as they want what’s best for Caitlin,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“These doctors know and so does the organization. This is them now holding on to as much money as they can. Revenues will drop significantly if they tell the truth,” another fan added.
“The Fever statement is so vague! Why not spell out what Caitlin’s injuries are? Her original injury was a left groin strain. Then she appeared to sustain a similar injury to the right groin. But apparently this second injury was not as bad as thought,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Fever approach this with no new damage to Clark.
