Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever faced off against the Atlanta Dream for the second game in a row on Thursday night. The Dream won the first matchup, 91-90, but the Fever evened things up on Thursday with an 81-76 victory.
However, Thursday’s game wasn’t without its share of extracurricular activities surrounding Cailin Clark.
In one video making the rounds on social media, Clark can be seen in a confrontation with Dream star Rhyne Howard, where she appears to be telling Howard: “I’m not scared of you.”
That wasn’t the only incident involving Clark in the game, either. Dream center Brittney Griner appears to call Clark a “trash white girl” in another video captured during the game, and Griner is under fire for what some fans are calling a “racist comment.”
People reacted to the video on social media.
“imagine if this was the other way around…Racism can exist both ways…Fix this now,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Aren’t you the same people who justified a white lady calling a kid the N word? Yeah, I believe that was your group,” someone else wrote.
“Get a grip and stop trying to tear apart the sport these players have worked a lifetime to get to. These players are FRIENDS off the court. Stop race baiting and find Jesus!” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the budding Dream and Fever rivalry is one that lasts throughout the season.
