Sports fans all around the world almost always find something to get upset about. Whether it’s a free agent signing, a trade, a missed-call, or even a logo, fans will always find a way to complain about it. Sometimes, they’ll even be tricked into those complaints.
The Australian Open is one of tennis’ four grand slam tournaments along with Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, and the French Open. Naturally, when the Aussie Open makes a big announcement, tennis fans will take notice.
As a result, when the tournament announced via Twitter that they had changed their logo to a non-tennis-looking one, fans went nuts.
Ben has a good point. Who would lift up a weight shaped like a V and another circle weight at the same time? He’s not the only one who’s not a fan of it either.

Luckily nobody will be failing a graphic design class as the Australian Open confirmed the logo was a prank/fake logo shortly after its release.
Except that not everyone let them get away with it.
In the end, it’s a silly thing to get mad about even if it was real. If anything, the Australian Open was able to get people to talk about the tournament months ahead of its start. The 2017 Australian Open runs from January 16-29th. Novak Djokovic and Angelique Kerber will be on hand to defend their 2016 men’s and women’s singles titles.
