Supercomputer breaks down key to Ryoyu Kobayashi’s Olympic ski jumping gold medal
A Japanese team of researchers used a supercomputer to conduct the first full aerodynamic simulation of a ski jumper, Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi, who went on to win gold at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. They found some distinct differences in mid-air airflow around Kobayashi relative to other competitors.
