Roger Penske owning team and series 'hinders IndyCar's legitimacy' (James Hinchcliffe)

Roger Penske has done a lot of great things for IndyCar, but recent developments involving Team Penske bring up the inherent conflict of interest Penske has by owning the NTT IndyCar Series, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and one of the top teams in the series. Ever since buying the track and the series in 2019, there were concerns about a conflict of interest. But with a second cheating scandal in consecutive seasons, this one resulting in IndyCar officials not spotting the infraction for over a year, those concerns are growing. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly says they believe they’ve reached an agreement for their teams to play in Canada this season

"On the basis of our discussions in the past week, as well as our exchange of correspondence over the last 24 hours, we believe we are aligned and in agreement on the conditions on which each of our Canadian franchises can begin play in their own buildings for the start of the 2020-21 NHL season."
