We all aged a bit but the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw has concluded. The 29 countries who know they’re in, plus the eight countries who still need to play to get in, at least know their group schedule at this November’s tournament in Qatar.
The United States didn’t get Group A, which would’ve had them facing Qatar instead of a World Cup title contender, but they did get Group B which pits them against England, Iran, and the winner of the Scotland/Ukraine/Wales tournament.
All in all, there isn’t really a “Group of Death” in this year’s World Cup. Each group seems winnable and losable for a lot of teams so this could be one of the most wide open World Cups ever.
Many had thoughts on the USMNT’s spot in the World Cup. From having flashbacks to playing England to playing Iran given the political ramifications, it’s not the easiest draw but it’s not the toughest draw either so it remains to be seen what happens over the next eight months.
