The United States men’s national team notched a massive victory against Iran on Tuesday, winning 1-0 to advance to the knockout round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. But with the victory came a bit of concern as star forward Christian Pulisic suffered an injury while scoring the go-ahead goal in the first half. But it looks like he’ll be good to go for Saturday’s knockout round match against the Netherlands.
Christian Pulisic left Tuesday’s game after halftime and did not return. The USMNT star posted a photo on social media after the team’s win, indicating that he would be ready for Saturday’s match, and FaceTimed the team from the hospital. And on Friday, the USMNT made it official.
“UPDATE: Christian Pulisic has been cleared to play in tomorrow’s match versus Netherlands,” the USMNT announced on Twitter on Friday.
It’s massive news as the United States faces its biggest match in over eight years, and the soccer world had plenty to say about it on social media as a result.

Pulisic played a part in both United States goals at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, assisting on Timothy Weah‘s goal against Wales and scoring one himself during the first half of Tuesday’s game against Iran.
