Brisbane native Andrew Urry is a hardcore Southend United fan. So hardcore, in fact, that he traveled more than 10,000 miles to attend one of the team’s games in Bradford.
Urry encountered one problem, however: The game he planned to attend was canceled right as he pulled up to the stadium.
The shortest flight we can find from Brisbane to the United Kingdom is about 23 hours, which means this guy sunk almost an entire day of his life into attending a soccer game that ended up not happening. That’s pretty rough.
Oh and if you’ve never heard of the Southend United squad Urry is so committed to, that could be because it’s a third-division team located in Southend-on-the-Sea, England’s 101st biggest city.
Would a signed Southend United ball help at all!?

A quick look at Urry’s Twitter page suggests he is taking this situation awfully well, thanks in part to a cascade of offers for free beer.
Have had more offers of beers from Liverpool fans than I could possibly drink, and doubt I'll get to Merseyside on this trip so I'd love (1)

if anyone who's offered me a pint instead donates that beer money to https://t.co/EQanIBsuRY to support the work they do. Thanks again (2)
