NASCAR star Kevin Harvick has raced since 2001. Now the accomplished driver isn’t sure how much longer that will continue.
Harvick opened up about his potential racing future Thursday. He told motorsports reporter Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic that he’s taking time to make that decision. Bianchi quoted Harvick as saying, “I think right now, I’ll know that answer before we get to Daytona. I don’t really have a clear answer on that right now.”
Harvick also added that he thinks “it could go either way at this particular point.”
The longtime NASCAR Cup Series driver will turn 47 later this month. He is one of the most decorated racers of the 21st Century. He won the 2001 and 2006 Busch Series Championship and also the NASCAR Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year award in 2001 as well. He won the 2007 Daytona 500, as well as the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season championship.
Harvick is also the all-time wins leader at Phoenix International Speedway.
The star driver is not the only other longtime racer whose future is in doubt. Veteran driver Kurt Busch took himself out of competition for the 2023 racing season after he suffered a concussion in July.
