A costly crash from Bubba Wallace at Talladega ended up ruining his race in the final lap of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race. After the race, Wallace owned up to his mistakes in the tangle.

Wallace found himself in a prime position to potentially win the race in the final lap, leading up until that point.

Unfortunately, he got tangled up with Ryan Blaney which ended up sending him into the wall and ending his chances of winning the race.

It was obviously a frustrating way to end what was a terrific race for Wallace up until that point. However, he acknowledged his faults after the race, saying that the crash was his fault.

“It’s not the 12’s fault,” Wallace said referring to Blaney. I honestly thought that he would leave me high and dry coming back around. Just hate it, hate it for my team. But that’s how it goes. I caused that one and I thought it would play out a little differently.”

It was a tough result for Wallace, but many around the sports world credited Wallace for owning up to his mistake after the race.

Bubba Wallace ultimately ended up finishing 28th in the race, which has to feel like a slap in the face considering he had a real chance to come away with the victory.

Regardless, he will look to continue his momentum from the majority of Sunday’s race and carry it over to Dover Motor Speedway next weekend.
