Tracy Morgan and Luke Wilson are reportedly teaming up for a new comedic road movie… called The Shitheads. Yes, The Shitheads.
Here’s more on the film, via Deadline:
The Shitheads is described as “The Last Detail by way of Bret Easton Ellis” and is a dark comedy that tells the story of “a pair of deeply unqualified bozos who’ve been hired to transport a troubled teenage millionaire to rehab.”
The film, which will be produced and financed by Imperative, will also be co-produced by Rough House Pictures. Specifically, Alex Orr and Rough House’s Brandon James will produce alongside Imperative’s Jillian Apfelbaum. Imperative’s Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas will executive produce along with Rough House’s Danny McBride, Jody Hill and David Gordon Green, Orr’s Fake Wood Wallpaper, and Jeremy Saulnier and Blair’s Bonneville Films.
The Shitheads will be directed by award-winning director Macon Blair, whose directorial debut I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore won the U.S. Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival (the film was purchased by Netflix at the festival this year, and can currently be live-streamed on their service). It will be produced by names like Danny McBride and Jody Hill, the pair that were behind Eastbound and Down and Observe and Report.
So, there would certainly seem to be quite a bit of potential here given the people involved. And it certainly has a title we won’t soon forget.
No release date has been set for The Shitheads yet.
