It has been a harrowing few days in the world of Taylor Swift fans, to say the least. Fans have scrambled to try and buy tickets for Swift’s “The Eras Tour,” dealing with pre-sale drama, long waits, site crashes, and other problems. On Thursday, Ticketmaster made things ten times worse by announcing that they had canceled the public sale of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” after high demand in the pre-sales wiped out availability.
“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled,” Ticketmaster tweeted Thursday.
There have been so many issues and problems surrounding the way Ticketmaster has messed up the Taylor Swift sales process, Tennesee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti launched an investigation into them on Thursday.
When the dust settles, a lot of people are wondering if it’s time for Ticketmaster to be broken up as they essentially have a monopoly on so many aspects of the concert-going experience. There really isn’t any choice in most of these situations when fans want to see someone like Taylor Swift. Unfortunately, the ones who get hurt the most are the people trying to buy tickets, only to get shut out and then see them selling for upwards of $20,000 on resale markets.
While the music world is up in arms, those in the sports world also voiced their anger and annoyance over the situation.
swifties are going to burn this company to the ground and throw the ashes in a volcano https://t.co/dkzZZ60ude

If anyone can help take down Ticketmaster, it might just be Taylor Swift and her Swifties.
