How many Hamiltons (or $10 bills) are you willing to dish out for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s final show as a member of the cast of Hamilton?
Despite the Broadway musical having nothing but wild success (or perhaps because of that success), Miranda announced last month that his final show will be July 9. To no one’s surprise, people are clamoring to see Miranda play Alexander Hamilton one last time.

So far, the cheapest ticket anywhere is still more than $1,000. At Ticketmaster, seats start at the outrageous price of $1,371. StubHub has tickets at a similar price, but the site takes the cake with two orchestra section tickets in Row A listed at $20,000 apiece.
For anyone who was able to get their hands on tickets first-hand for the performance, reselling them might be a very good idea. Hamilton tickets from the box office start at $139, so those who sell on the secondary market are making hundreds (and even thousands) of dollars. That’s a lot of Hamiltons.
Saturday’s show is guaranteed to be an emotional night for fans either way, whether it’s fans bidding goodbye to Miranda or seeing how much money they had to spend to see the Broadway hit. There is good news, however. Despite Miranda’s absence, Hamilton will soon make its way outside of New York. The musical is launching a residency in Chicago and will soon be going on a national tour.
While those too will be hard tickets to find, we have to imagine those won’t cost as much as a new car.
