This week, Shane Gillis returned to Saturday Night Live, and one of his skits absolutely roasted former United States President Donald Trump.
On this week’s episode of SNL, a skit absolutely roasted Donald Trump for his uncanny ability to deny reality until people start to believe it.
The skit was a spoof of a movie trailer similar to the movie Like Mike where a character who is bad at basketball finds a pair of magical shoes – in this case, the Donald Trump “Never Surrender High Tops.” But this time, instead of making the protagonist – played by Shane Gillis – better at basketball, it just makes him better at lying to everyone about being good at basketball.
In the video, Gillis misses the first shot he took after putting on the Trump sneakers and emphatically said “I didn’t miss, it went in,” in a voice similar to Trump’s.
“They give me the power to say I’m good at basketball and then double down on that until people actually start to believe it,” Gillis said of the sneakers in the skit.
The skit then showed a variety of things that Gillis lied about with the shoes then convinced people are true.
It was a pretty hilarious skit from Gillis that roasted Trump for his new sneakers.
