Swiss snowboarder louri Podladtchikov had a nightmare moment during an X Games halfpipe final run on Sunday night in Aspen.

Podladtchikov — a gold medalist in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics — was about to complete a terriifc run in which he’d just completed consecutive 1080 double corks, when he took a devastating fall after getting 17 feet of air.

The 29-year-old appeared to be knocked out and was down and attended to for at least 10 minutes, before being taken off on a stretcher.

This is a terrifying sight:

X Games officials report that Podladtchikov is being evaluated for a head injury.

Update: Podladtchikov had a CT scan that came back negative for a brain or neck injury, but he did suffer a broken nose. If he only suffered a broken nose, that should be considered an incredibly fortunate result with how bad that looked.
