New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad had a very special night on Thursday in a 6-5 overtime victory over the Washington Capitals.
Zibanejad scored five goals, with No. 5 being the game-winner in overtime.
Zibanejad is the second player in NHL history to score his fifth goal in overtime, and he’s the first Rangers player to score four+ goals since 2011 (he’s the third Rangers player to ever score five goals).
And Zibanejad is the first NHL player to score five goals since the Winnipeg Jets’ Patrik Laine did so in Nov. 2018.
