Sunday’s Game 6 matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings featured a moment that Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner would surely like to have back at a key point in the game.
Edmonton clung to a 4-3 lead with 12 minutes remaining in the third period. However, Skinner made what on the surface was an indefensible mistake, turning it over at his own goal.
Skinner received the puck from his teammate and proceeded to absolutely whiff as he tried to pass it up ice. This resulted in an easy goal for Kings center Phillip Danault.

It looked like he completely missed the puck on the pass, but that actually wasn’t the case. A replay of the play shows that was he makes contact on the pass his stick breaks, causing the puck to barely move as he makes contact.
It was truly a bad break for Skinner. However, most didn’t see that at home and absolutely blasted him on social media for this allowing this brutal goal.

Luckily for Skinner and the Oilers, this bad break didn’t end up costing them in this game. Oilers right wing Kailer Yamamoto would come through with a clutch goal with three minutes to go to take the lead.
The Oilers would hang on for the 5-4 victory and take the series 4-2 against the Kings.
You have to feel good for Skinner since their team didn’t lose on this bad break. They will now face off against the Vegas Golden Knights in the Second Round after their series win over the Winnipeg Jets.
