A frightening scene happened at the Calgary Flames’ practice Thursday. 29-year-old defenseman T.J. Brodie collapsed on the ice partway through practice, was stretchered off, and was taken to hospital.
The Flames later put out this statement:
Brodie has spent his entire NHL career with the Flames, being drafted by the club in 2008 and making his NHL debut with them in the 2010-11 campaign. He posted nine goals and 34 points for them last year. It’s not clear what happened to him Thursday, but it’s good to hear that he’s alert and responsive in hospital.
