A wild fan fight occurred at an NHL game on Friday night and the video of the fight went viral.

The Boston Bruins and the Phoenix Coyotes played on Friday night in Tempe. The Coyotes pulled an upset win over the previously 20-4-1 Bruins, who have an Eastern Conference-best 43 points.

But the story wasn’t just on the ice. A wild fight broke out between fans in the stands of ASU Multi-Purpose Arena. It got chaotic and then got shockingly bad very quickly, involving several people in the stands.

Pete Blackburn of Bally Sports tweeted a video of the fight on Saturday morning that went viral quickly.

Several on Twitter shared the video after Blackburn tweeted it out.

Cam Cox, an Arizona-area TV reporter tweeted, “NSFW… Mullet Arena fight!”

Some were shocked and couldn’t even find words to tweet. WEEI’s Christian Arcand merely tweeted an emoji in response to the fight.

Others tweeted about what the video reminded them of. Hockey Night in Hartford compared the brawl to scuffles between Bruin fans and Hartford Whalers fans in the past.

Responses didn’t come from just the hockey world. Former NBA star Evan Turner chimed in with his thoughts, calling the fans “thugs.” Perhaps Turner had the reaction to the Malice at the Palace in mind.
