The Minnesota Vikings are kicking off the J.J. McCarthy era this season, following Sam Darnold’s departure for the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately, one of McCarthy’s top weapons has found himself in a bit of legal trouble.

Star wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested earlier this year under suspicion of DUI, and according to one prominent league insider, he may be finding out the ramifications of his arrest on Tuesday.

“Vikings WR Jordan Addison’s jury trial stemming from his 2024 DUI citation remains set for today in Superior Court of California. Addison has pleaded not guilty,” reported ESPN’s Kevin Seifert.

Another ESPN insider then provided details on what a guilty verdict may mean for Addison.

“If convicted, Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison could be facing a baseline three-game suspension, per NFL policy,” Adam Schefter posted in a follow-up.

Fans reacted to the reports on social media.

“Would be a bummer for the first few weeks of the season for the Minnesota Vikings and JJ McCarthy,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I don’t know why these athletes just don’t have drivers or Uber. They know what’s at risk here,” one fan added.

“If that was some regular dude like me or most people in these comments we’d be toast. People cry about skin color all the time, people need to start realizing the only color that matters when it counts is green. People with that kind of money don’t play by same rules,” someone else wrote.

It’ll be interesting to see what the outcome of the trial is.
