The Minnesota Vikings have begun the J.J. McCarthy era after a knee injury in the preseason cost him all of what should’ve been his rookie season last year. Unfortunately, McCarthy has been dealing with a lot of moving parts at the wide receiver position.
His projected top target, Justin Jefferson, has been sidelined during training camp with a hamstring injury. Wide receiver Jordan Addison has been healthy and available, but has been suspended for the first three games of the regular season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
Now, the Vikings are confirming some more brutal news in the position room, according to one prominent league insider.
“The #Vikings confirm that WR Rondale Moore suffered a season-ending knee injury in Saturday’s preseason game, ending his season before it began for the second consecutive year,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Hate to see it, back to back years it’s felt like this dude has had an opportunity to breakout and he gets back to back season ending injuries before he can get going in either,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Rondale’s knees need a SERIOUS therapy session. Might want to invest in bubble wrap for that boy!” someone else wrote.
“My goodness, how many injuries have we seen so far already? I feel like I might be overreacting but I genuinely don’t remember this many season ending injuries so soon in the season,” one fan added.
Hopefully, Moore can make a return stronger than ever next season.
