The Cincinnati Bengals have overcome their underdog role in their last two playoff games to make it to the Super Bowl. They will need to do the same in order to hoist the Lombardi Trophy next Sunday.
The Los Angeles Rams come into this game as 4.5-point favorites despite the Bengals’ impressive victory over the Chiefs.
A huge amount of Cincinnati’s success has been from their impressive wide receiver tandem of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd, but they will face a difficult matchup against the Rams and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Boyd was asked how the Bengals have been approaching the upcoming matchup against Ramsey and the wide receiver responded confidently.
“We don’t care what’s going to happen, how you are going to play us,” said Boyd. “We’re going to continue to play our game. We’re not going to not throw [Chase] the ball because Ramsey is on him. However they decide to play, they’re going to have to match us.”
Boyd did add that Ramsey is a corner that can do it all.
The Bengals seem well prepared to deal with a cornerback like Ramsey given the makeup of their team, with three very capable receiving options. The deciding factor in the game could be how well the offensive line holds up against the vaunted pass-rush of Aaron Donald and Von Miller.
The Bengals allowed 9 sacks in their divisional-round matchup against the Titans, and while they were better last week, only allowing one, a repeat of that performance could make it a long night for the Bengals and Joe Burrow.
