After dominating the XFL over the spring, it looks like one of the league’s top performers will now get a chance to make an NFL roster.
According to a report from league insider Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network, XFL star, and former NFL player Trent Harris will get a chance to make the Denver Broncos after he was invited to the team’s rookie minicamp.
“XFL sack leader and NFL veteran pass rusher Trent Harris has had multiple teams interested and has been invited to #Broncos rookie minicamp, per source,” Pelissero said in a tweet.
As the XFL season comes to a close, Harris currently leads the XFL with 9.5 sacks in nine games for the Houston Roughnecks this season.
It’s some pretty big news for Harris, and the football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.
This won’t be Harris’ first opportunity in the NFL. was undrafted out of Miami in 2018 before ultimately signing with the New England Patriots practice squad. The following season, he had 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Miami Dolphins and then he appeared in eight games for the Giants over the 2020 and 2021 campaigns.
It will be interesting to see if he’s able to make an NFL roster next season.
