The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted one of the most intriguing draft prospects of all time in Travis Hunter, who is trying to be the first player in league history to play the bulk of his team’s snaps on both offense and defense.

Unfortunately, Hunter got some unfortunate news on the injury front late into training camp, keeping him from practicing, and now there’s been a less-than-stellar update to the situation, according to one prominent league insider.

“Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter was held out of Thursday’s joint practice with the Miami Dolphins because of an upper-body injury, and the No. 2 draft pick isn’t going to play in the Jaguars’ preseason finale Saturday night, either,” ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“There’s no chance he consistently plays both sides of the ball in the NFL regular season,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Been saying since before April he played in the minor leagues on a bad team and wouldn’t hold Up and it shows. Wouldn’t have been a top 5 WR or Corner in either of past two drafts. Hes good at everything but great at nothing,” someone else added.

“Browns fleeced Jax in that trade. They got the 5th overall pick this year and a 1st rounder next year for this guy. Think about that. They moved up 3 spots for a non QB and gave up an additional first rd pick that will almost certainly be a high pick,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Hunter’s body can endure playing so many snaps at the professional level.
