Colorado Buffaloes standout Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy as a two-way player the likes of which college football had never seen before. Not just a gadget player on one side of the ball, Hunter’s dominance on both offensive and defense led many to wonder which direction Hunter would choose to go in as a professional.
Hunter’s stats were equally dominant as both a cornerback and a wide receiver. As a corner, Hunter talled 35 tackles, 11 defended passes and four interceptions. As a reciver the star reeled in 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 yards.
Now, we have our first hint on which positon Hunter plans to specialize in at the pro level.
“Colorado’s Travis Hunter will attend NFL Scouting Combine as CB,” reported Underdog NFL on Thursday.
Fans reacted to the news on media.
“Nobody should be surprised about this,” one fan wrote on Twitter of Hunter’s decision.
“The first big domino of this rookie class. Combine will answer a lot more,” one fan added.
“Which makes sense. No idea why everyone was running with the he’s a WR thing. He’s clearly a corner who can play some WR,” another fan added.
“Disappointing man. Guys the WR1 of this class easily,” someone else wrote.
Regardless of what he specializes in, it’ll be interesting to see if Hunter gets any burn on both sides of the ball as a pro.
