The NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching. We’ve seen teams make big moves as recently as Monday afternoon. If the rumor mill is any indication, we could be in for a movement-heavy Tuesday before the deadline is reached.
The Indianapolis Colts, who’ve had a very disappointing start to the NFL season, might be a seller. And a notable player might be on the move. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that veteran all-purpose back Nyheim Hines is being targeted by other NFL teams.
“Teams have reached out to the Colts to inquire about trading for RB/WR/PR Nyheim Hines,” said Schefter in the tweet on Monday evening.
Fellow ESPN reporter Stephen Holder, who covers the Colts, later said that he believes the Colts could, and perhaps should pull it off. “I would actually be open to this if I was the Colts,” said Holder in a tweet. While he didn’t believe the compensation would be great, Holder later tacked on a noteworthy nugget:
“Everything I’m hearing right now about the status of things with Colts RB Nyheim Hines indicates odds are good he will be traded by tomorrow’s deadline,” said Holder.
As expected, many around the NFL world chimed in on the probable move as well as possible landing spots for Hines:
Based on this and other rumored trade candidates around the league, the NFL might have their most exciting trade deadline to date on Tuesday.
