Last year was certainly not an easy one for Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Tom Brady as he went through a very public divorce last after multiple years of marital issues with his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. And though Brady was pretty open about how difficult the divorce will be, it looks like the stress of the whole situation impacted him even more than he let on.
In an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen was asked about how Tom Brady responded to the issues in his personal life. And he said that the stress was clearly taking a toll on Brady, revealing that Brady lost 15 pounds during the time which caused Christensen to worry.
“Yeah, I worried about him,” Christensen said. “He lost that weight. It was very stressful. And he battled and he hurt, but he put on the brave face and did it again. You’ve got a bunch of folks depending on you. I have an unbelievable respect for what Tom did this year. Off-the-charts amount of respect for him just managing things.”
Christensen’s words sure put everything Brady went through this season in perspective. Hopefully, next season will not be quite as stressful for him if he chooses to return to football.
